12-09-2007: Ni Hao ma?
Azia, it is different, it is exciting and it is challenging. It attracted me and I decided to give it a shot, graduating in China. For months I have been looking forward to it and then the moment was finaly there. And when I got on that plane I could not help but wonder.......what did I get myself into this time?
Hi, I am Renske, a RE&H master student at the Technical University of Delft, and for the upcoming three months I will inform you on my journey to Shanghai. Here, I am preforming interviews for my research on the influence of the urban development strategy on improve the global competitiveness of an area.
The purpose of this colum however, is not to bore you with my research. I will give you an small preview of the cultural differences, akward situations, good experiences and difficulties you can expect when arranging and living your foreign experience. It will not only be moonlight and roses , but I am pretty sure it will be worth it in the end. Hopefuly my experiences will help you in making your foreign decisions.
In the upcoming week I will tell you a little bit more about how I arranged the trip. In the mean time, if you have any questions, please let me know at renskeschoenmaker@gmail.com.
Talk to you soon!
