2007: Overamstel
What...
In the week of the 26th till the 30th of March 2007 FRESH will organize the yearly recurring Consultancy Week. The Consultancy Week is a week in which 25 ambitious real estate students, coming from different universities throughout the Netherlands, will work on a complex practically-oriented case. These students come from study backgrounds such as economics, spatial planning, law and construction engineering.Why...
The goal of the Consultancy Week is to take a crack at working on a complex case in a multidisciplinary context. The students will be divided in different groups (Consultancy Teams), each of which will each work individually to come up with a viable development proposal. Within these groups students will also have their individual roles. The cooperation between the students which come from a diverse number of studies will be the central aspect. The case of the Consultancy Week often involves a large scale city centre restructuring. In previous years, the following assignments were tackled:
- Centre of Amsterdam
- Rotterdam Central Station
- Station Area Utrecht
- Binckhorst in The Hague
Who...
A broad range of speakers, coming from different universities, the municipality and several leading companies, will be asked to tell something about the case in a number of presentations. This will give speakers the chance to give the students their vision on a more specific area of the case. The presentations are meant to give added value to the case and discussed subjects should thus be related to it.How...
Students will work fulltime on the case in their groups. An elaborate tour of the area will be given, which will serve to give a good impression of the plan area. Input will be received on a daily basis in the presentations and a number of consults that the participants will be able to attend. During the whole week all of the students will stay in a hotel. On the last day each group will present its results and findings to the other groups. A professional jury will be present to judge these final presentations and pick the group that has the best proposal.
